A Journey of Mindfulness, Mental Health and Conscious Living

The Healing Powers of Nature
The Healing Powers of Nature- There's something about being in nature that always has given me a sense of calm. It's ironic how we're so caught up in a digital world yet we feel more disconnected than ever. Being in nature does wonders for healing and your mental health. Disconnect to reconnect.

Victim Shaming and Rape Culture
Rape culture and victim shaming is the reason women will always have a glass ceiling in society. Women constantly tear each other down instead of building each other up. Oftentimes rape or abuse victims are mocked, ridiculed and laughed at by fellow women, further degrading and demoralizing their already traumatic experience.

Normalizing Therapy
There is a stigma around Mental Health in the Philippines. This stigma is the reason many people suffer in silence, and never get the professional help they truly need as well as any form of a real support system. Therapy needs to be normalized in order for individuals to get the psychological first aid they need in times of a mental health crisis like this pandemic. Knowing when to ask for help is actually a strength, not a weakness.

Finding your Safe Space
Finding a safe space is the key to a happy. healthy and peaceful inner life. It could be a best friend who listens with full empathy and no judgment, a psychologist or psychiatrist you can trust, or even a place in nature or a yoga mat. The world can be a negative and draining place to be. At the end of the day itβs good to have a safe space to call your own, where you can be yourself.

Cutting off Toxic Friendship for your Mental Health
Cutting off toxic friendships or relationships is drastic but sometimes necessary to protect your Inner Peace and Mental Health. Sometimes you outgrow a relationship or friendship and feel thereβs nothing really keeping you together. You donβt need to revert to a previous version of yourself to appease other people especially if the friendship no longer brings you happiness or joy.

Seeking Everyday Mindfulness
It may seem counterintuitive but breaks are actually productive and necessary in order to maintain a sense of well being. Being mindful of the amount of work you do, your mood and energy levels are necessary to protect your mental health. Itβs useful to be mindful of your time, and to be aware of certain tasks at hand as to not get overwhelmed by doing too many things at once. Balancing work, family, friends and other aspects of life with rest is necessary to prevent burnout,
